Pennsylvania Water Trails Program

Water trails are recreational corridors between specific locations that can be used for both single day and multiple day trips. They provide safe access to and information about Pennsylvania's waterways while also providing connections to our history, ecology, geology, heritage and wildlife. Most importantly, water trails are open to anyone who is interested in getting out on the water!

Pennsylvania has a statewide program to support the development of water trails and PEC is the manager. The partners include: PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, PA Fish & Boat Commission, National Park Service – Chesapeake Bay Gateways & Watertrails Network and National Park Service-Rivers - Trails & Conservation Assistance Program. The partners are available to assist with local water trail efforts and to advance projects at the statewide level.

We look forward to working with you!

For visitor information or links to specific PA Water Trails please visit the PA Water Trails page on the PA Fish & Boat Commission's web site: http://fishandboat.com/watertrails/index.htm.  We currently have twenty-one designated water trails in Pennsylvania.
