RFP Announcement - East Coast Greenway Tyburn Road Obstruction

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) is issuing a Request for Proposals, with the assistance of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), to perform an Engineering Feasibility Analysis; and develop Conceptual Design for a new, formalized trail connection for the Delaware Canal Trail / East Coast Greenway around the Tyburn Road obstruction, located in Falls Township, Bucks County, PA.

Philadelphia Bike Share - Strategic Business Plan RFP Announced

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council is issuing a Request for Proposals for the creation of a strategic business plan, consulting and cost estimate services to create a strategic and business plan to lay the backbone for a bike sharing system in Philadelphia.

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council, City of Philadelphia and the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia have established a collaborative effort to bring a Bike Sharing system to Philadelphia.

Background

Bike share is an urban transportation concept based on collective paid use of a distributed supply of bicycles a little like the car sharing model that many Philadelphians already see – and use – in Philly Car Share and ZipCar.

58th Street Greenway still under construction in Southwest Philadelphia

The 58th Street Greenway, which connects Bartram’s Garden to Cobbs Creek trail, is an important connection in the Philadelphia portion of the East Coast Greenway – the nearly 3,000-mile, bicycle and pedestrian trail system stretching from Canada to Key West, Florida. PEC is developing segments of the vast trail network with local partners and the East Coast Greenway Alliance.
